Why choose Story House?

The best thing about working at Story House is the communication and collaboration with the senior management on a regular basis.

I also like that we have really great resources, and we have area managers that are really approachable, and they come and check on staff well-being on a regular basis, and parents that we can achieve the best outcome for the internal external community.

The best thing about working at Story House is that we are respected as educators here and I love coming to work every day supporting the children, the staff, and working together as a team.

We have such a wonderful community here and we just all love working together.

Story House greatly values their educators, and this can be seen through our annual awards. Recently I was the recipient of the ECT of the year and our service won the service of the year, which was really inspiring.

Story House celebrates us in a number of ways. Upper management are always looking to sort of get us together as a group and sort of foster a sort of great culture.

For example, when I finished my probationary period, I got given a free food voucher which was amazing, and they also paid for my partner as well so it was just a restaurant of my choice and we got to eat drink it was great, and I couldn't have been more thankful it was awesome.

With being a staff member and a parent here at Story House, I'm grateful enough to also receive my 75% discount with having my child involved.

That's like my friend.

I feel privileged to be able to bring my child to work each and every day and know that he is happy, safe, and engaging in wonderful learning experiences.

Story House lets me foster my love of education by supporting me to complete my Cert. III in education.

Story House enables my growth and development in many different areas. We have access to online training with the most amazing educators and training is fantastic for us professionally and personally to fit into our lives.

We have regular meetings with our managers within our services who support us every single day in striving towards our goals for our future.

Life as an Educator at Story House

At Story House, one of our core values is innovation, so we like to do things a little bit differently. Instead of reading about your future role, come on, let me show you.

As an educator, I get to support the room leader with implementing engaging learning experiences for the children.

I am provided with a fortnightly roster where I have the opportunity to welcome families in the morning with open arms, ready to start the day, or I may be rostered to say good night to the children and let their families know all about what a wonderful day they have had.

I am supported by the room leader and the leadership team to contribute my ideas and record my observations. I'm also encouraged to continue with my own professional development and can attend regular PD sessions.

And when I'm ready to do so, Story House will support me in gaining my diploma.

Life as an Early Childhood Teacher at Story House

At Story House, one of our core values is innovation, so we like to do things a bit differently. Instead of reading about your future role, let me show you.

As an ECT, I am lucky to guide and support the children in their individual learning journey. A large component of my role is to assist children in their transition to school.

My day may consist of inspiring children to expand their minds through investigation and interactions with others. The ideas and voice of the child are at the forefront of our curriculum, and it is the children that lead us throughout the day.

I get to network with other ECTs within Story House, and we are always supporting each other through sharing ideas. The Pedagogy Practice Partner is just a phone call away to offer me guidance, and we have access to an online learning library which has so many great resources and training sessions to help me be the best educator I can be.

If I can't find what I need, I have the budget to spend on professional development. I've recently used my budget to gain my registration, and I am so excited to be working towards a higher level teaching with the guidance of a quality team.

At the end of the year, I am allocated an hour per child in my room for completing the important transition statements that I need to prepare.

I generally work during the core hours of the day so that I can ensure our service meets the eligible funding. This funding is then used for the purchasing of beautiful resources that I select or any excursions that we wish to embark on.

Life as a Cook at Story House

At Story House, one of our core values is innovation, so we like to do things a bit differently. Instead of reading about your future role, come, let me show you.

As the Early Childhood cook, you'll get to bring your ideas and creativity to develop a seasonal menu that meets Story House's high food safety and nutritional standards.

Story House encourages their cooks to create a culturally inclusive menu. You'll be responsible for ensuring any dietary and allergy requirements are met and that you collaborate with the children's educators on the individual needs of each child.

You'll be super organised to ensure the food is prepped and served in a timely manner. Along with cooking, you will also ensure the kitchen is sanitised and ready to prepare for the next meal.

You'll plan time to order your food and organize your kitchen. Now it's your turn to whip up a treat.

Life as a Lead Educator at Story House

At Story House, one of our core values is innovation, so we like to do things a little bit differently. Instead of reading about your future role, let me show you.

I'm a lead educator and every day I get to see the children's faces light up as they come into their room and see the age-appropriate and fun learning experiences my team and I have set up for the day.

I closely observe their interactions and ensure I jot down the information ready to extend on their learning the next day.

My program is updated regularly with the guidance and support from our amazing educational leader.

My manager gives me the opportunity to recommend what resources are needed in the room.

Being available for open and closing shifts gives me the opportunity to gain feedback from families as well as sharing all the amazing milestones their child has achieved.

Life as a Service Manager at Story House

At Story House, one of our core values is innovation. We like to do things a bit differently. Instead of reading about your future role, let me show you.

As a Service Manager, I look after the day-to-day running and the long-term outcomes of the service.

I'm guided by the Story House values and the seven quality areas of the national standard: educational practice, children's health and safety, caring for my staff, relationships with children, authentic partnerships with families and communities, and the governance and leadership - all come under my skill set to perform the role of Service Manager.

My leadership is based on kindness and fairness, and identifying the strengths of my team.

I love knowing the children and families that come through our service every week, and every day is different in my role, from staff appraisals to families and tours, liaising with the department, and working with the support office.

I receive a generous retention and occupancy incentive from Story House.

I work with my manager to achieve service KPIs and reach service targets. My manager supports developing my skills by giving me the tools I need to succeed.

Life as a Trainee at Story House

At Story House, one of our core values is innovation, so we like to do things a bit differently. Instead of reading about your future role, let me show you.

A traineeship is a great way to start your career within early childhood education and earn while you learn. You'll be fully supported by an experienced team of early childhood professionals.

The registered training provider will come out and meet you in person during your first few weeks where they'll guide you through the registration process and discuss your course and requirements.

Your manager will have regular catch-ups with you, and you will receive regular visits from your trainer. A dedicated mentor within the service will be assigned to you, and they will be available to offer guidance and keep you on track.

Life as a BOM at Story House

As a Business Operations Manager at Story House, my role is to support the service managers in delivering high-quality care and education to all of our children and families.

Story House is a community of like-minded, supportive, passionate, and fun people. Being connected with each of my service teams is vitally important in my role.

Through living our value of connectedness, I visit my services weekly and enjoy supporting the whole team.

For me, this includes spending time in the rooms, interacting with children and families.

Understanding a day in the life of my team helps me to be truly connected.
